Friday Night Lights Spoilers, News & Notes

Here's a little Friday Night Lights spoiler / news item from Michael Ausiello's column at Entertainment Weekly today, re: tonight's episode ...

Q: I've noticed that Jeffrey Reiner hasn't directed many episodes of Friday Night Lights this season. He's such a great talent. Do you know what happened?

A: No clue, but he directed Scott Porter's swan song tonight, and guess what? It's a work of freakin' art! One scene in particular, involving Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, deserves to be played on an endless loop at the Museum of Television and Radio. Definitely one of my favorite Coach and Tami moments to date. Friday Night Lights spoiler-wise, someone suffers a heart attack, Tyra makes what could be the biggest mistake of her life (and that's saying something considering the mess last year), and Matt comes up with a surprising solution to his QB problem.

Friday Night Lights Spoilers For This Evening

A couple of interesting tidbits from Entertainment Weekly's spoiler Q&A ...

Q: How is Friday Night Lights doing ratings-wise on DirecTV?

A: I'm too lazy to research it, so let's go with "spectacular" and "record-breaking" and move on to the real reason you're here - Friday Night Lights spoilers. Someone's gay, and he or she is coming out in tonight's episode.

Q: When will Tami find out that Matt and Julie had sex on Friday Night Lights?

A: Not tonight, since Matt and Julie are MIA throughout the entire episode. The big news (aside from the coming out I teased above) is the sudden and dramatic turn Jason's life takes as a result of a chance encounter at a Panthers game. Not so coincidentally, Scott Porter makes his final appearance next week.

Friday Night Lights Spoilers: A New Girlfriend For Landry?

A little Friday Night Lights spoiler / news item from E! Online's Q&A this morning ...

Q: Poor Landry getting dumped on Friday Night Lights... Is there any hope for him?

A: Yes there is! He'll have a new girlfriend this week, or so he tells Tyra (Adrianne Palicki). In other Friday Night Lights news, one of the Panthers never told his parents he was on the team, and he's yanked off the field just before the big game. As for the newest football hero, J.D. McCoy (Jeremy Sumpter), poor guy's overzealous daddy continues to not understand the distinction between coach and father. Can Coach's patience with that guy run out? Please? I want to see him give Mr. McCoy what for!

Some Friday Night Lights spoilers / news items from E! Online today ...

Q: Can you share anything on Friday Night Lights?

A: Wednesday's episode, "Hello, Goodbye" marks Smash's (Gaius Charles') final week in Dillon, and his goodbye scenes will break your heart. Also heartbreaking? Landry's (Jesse Plemons) goodbye to Tyra (Adrianne Palicki) after she starts seeing rodeo cowboy Cash (Zach Roerig) somewhat seriously. Of course, Tyra and Landry are officially not together, but it feels like a bad breakup just the same.

Friday Night Lights News and Spoilers

Shedding some light on future developments are a couple of Friday Night Lights spoilers / news items from E! Online this week ...

Q: How much do you love the new season of Friday Night Lights? It's perfect and so is Riggins. Any scoop for the season?

A: The season is amazing — it has everything that made the first year so wonderful, but refreshed and up-to-date - but Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) is not as flawless. In fact, he and brother Billy (Derek Phillips) become thieves in a coming episode. That said, Riggins is generally trying to go straight this year. He wants to overcome everyone's low expectations of him - he's especially hoping to change Buddy Garrity's very negative view of 33 dating his daughter.

Q: How about some info on Friday Night Lights. Thanks!

A: The ambitious McCoys continue to push J.D. into the starting quarterback slot, and boosters start to agree that maybe Matt Saracen is no longer the man for the job.

Friday Night Lights to Say Goodbye to Smash

What's going on with Smash and Street's upcoming exits from the cast of Friday Night Lights? Enter Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly ...

Q: Any scoop on Friday Night Lights?
A: Gaius Charles just wrapped his final episode as Smash, and co-star Taylor Kitsch reveals that he saved the best for last. "I was involved in his last shooting scene, and, in my opinion, it was the best scene of the season [so far]," he says. "Smash and I are in the locker room just talking about memories and stuff. It really felt like old school Friday Night Lights. [Gaius Charles] has grown so much. He left a very strong mark."

Awesome. Meanwhile, if you're wondering how Scott Porter's last scene went, it's still a ways away. Per Kitsch, Brothers & Sisters' future Ryan (fingers-crossed!) just started work on the first of his final four episodes.

Friday Night Lights News & Spoilers

Wondering what's to come in the new season of Friday Night Lights? Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly offers the following tidbit ...

Q: Have you forgotten about a little show called Friday Night Lights?

A: Who do you think I am, an Emmy voter? Anyway, if I'm interpreting your passive-aggressive dig correctly, you're hungry for something on Friday Night Lights. Well, per my on-set spy, the show has recently shot several flashback sequences that will help fill in the considerable gap between Season 2 and 3. For starters, we'll see first-hand how the Panthers ended their season and what led to Smash's choice of colleges.
