NBC has just launched an auction on its website with a bunch of different props from its hit shows. Friday Night Lights is one of the shows featured.

A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the United Way. The NBC auction runs through December 3, at which point a new batch of props are going live! Here are the items relating to Friday Night Lights up for bids...

In an era when a new form of literature is emerging, the simultaneous release of two works - today - heralds its arrival.

But they're not books, they are DVDs, collecting the first seasons of two TV shows, Heroes and Friday Night Lights.

Tom Maurstad of the Dallas Morning News writes that the effect of watching these two collections - the depth, the intensity of the experience - will make you want to press your well-worn copies into the hand of a close, but uninitiated friend the way you once would have done with a beloved novel, delivered with an updated version of the timeless imperative: "You've got to watch this."

Amid the seemingly constant barrage of reports and rumors of breakthroughs and paradigm shifts, it sounds kind of funny to attach words like "new" and "emerging" to the old-world media of TV, even if it is nudged along the timeline by being presented in the mid-world format of DVD.

Inspired by the best-selling book and acclaimed feature film, Friday Night Lights: The Complete First Season debuts on DVD August 28.

Executive produced by Peter Berg (who directed and wrote the film) and Academy Award winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind), Friday Night Lights has won wide viewer devotion and critical praise for its portrayal of the emotional dynamics of small town life and football.

All 22 episodes of the initial season, available for the first time on DVD, come with bonus features including a "Making of the Final Episode" feature, commentary by the producers and deleted scenes from some of the most memorable episodes.

Friday Night Lights tells a gripping story of life in Dillon, Texas, where everyone comes together on friday nights as the Dillon High Panthers play.

Bringing this story to life is an impressive ensemble cast starring Chandler (King Kong) and Connie Britton (24).
